The final Pool Party went down this past weekend. I was blessed to be able to shoot practice and the event with a little help from a friend, who got me on the list early on. A bittersweet end to one of the greatest bowls ever built. The Combi at the Block was my home park for many years. I've had sessions with pretty much everyone I saw in the magazines and videos growing up. The legends, the pros, the kids, who became famous and are making a living skateboarding. It's been a great run. The people I have met, the sessions I've been a part of and witnessed, all the fun times we all shared have been truly amazing. Eternally grateful to the Van Dorens and Vans for bringing it to life and keeping it going all these years.
The last contest did not disappoint. Tom Schaar is a beast. The Viking, Rune Glifberg brought back his mastery. 14 year-old Arisa Trew throwing switch 5s. The Legend himself, Christian Hosoi finally getting the top of the podium. And Greyson Fletcher shutting it down with a kickflip from the Duncan into the round. It was a great day.
